Men's clothing

Fall/winter 2016-17 men's fashion shows the spirit of contamination and a propensity for artisanal garments.

The trendiest collections are inspired by music, from the tribute to David Bowie by Gucci, to the rock of Valentino and Philipp Plein and grunge in the oversize sweaters by Raf Simons, or to Old West in fringed items, the leather jacket and eagles and cowboy prints at Givenchy, Dolce & Gabbana and Roberto Cavalli. Also important are the animalier prints for the overcoats by N°21, the folk style by Antonio Marras or the Baroque matador of Balmain.

The coats see a great return of camel, which is worn on pinstripe suits or turtleneck pullovers, at Pal Zilieri and Maison Margiela. The dark blue becomes trendy for the marine style in the double-breasted coats with frogs viewed at Prada, Tommy Hilfiger and Burberry. The trench coat is enriched by new versions: colored by Daks, white single breasted by Salvatore Ferragamo, dark grey at Emporio Armani and classic beige at Burberry.

Among the casual jackets there is a strong the presence of bombers, printed and with colorful details, and and bikers and suede. The tailored blazers are single or double-breasted, in tweed by Brioni, Prince of Wales checks at Z Zegna, precious brocade at Gucci, while the suits range from grey to brown and the new green in the runways of Boglioli, Corneliani and Valentino.

Elegance of past times for the modern Dandy, dressed in ruffled shirts by Ermanno Scervino and Dior, in silk pajama palazzo by Roberto Cavalli, in velvet at Giorgio Armani, Costume National and Bally, while the dinner suits become glamour with the tuxedo tight pants by Saint Laurent.

Great space in men’s wardrobe is devoted to knitwear, worn inside the trousers, as the 80's style, and featuring many trends:

  • checks & tartans for pullovers by Brioni, Bottega Veneta and Fendi
  • in multicolor tricot and jacquard effect for Missoni, Giorgio Armani, Corneliani and Salvatore Ferragamo
  • mini or maxi braids, in warm colors or grey, for Etro, Cerruti and Michael Kors
  • back to classic with ribbed turtlenecks and knitted vests

Sportswear looks at Japanese manga graphics for t-shirts and outerwear by Dsquared2, to 90s street style at Adidas Originals and Rick Owens or at the winter skiing world at Emporio Armani, Hogan, and Calvin Klein.
