FOCUS ON: VIVIENNE WESTWOOD

A tribute to the Queen of Punk

    FOCUS ON: VIVIENNE WESTWOOD

Irreverent, provocative, anti-establishment. To say it in one word: Punk.

2022 ended with the sad loss of the other Queen of England: the iconic English designer Vivenne Westwood. The same woman who hated being defined as "Queen of Punk", but who at the same time gave life to a new interpretaion of fashion focusing on the most anarchic and brave values of freedom.

Her career started in the 70s when she inagurated her store in 430 Kingsroad together with her partner Malcom McLaren. From the very first moment, Vivienne distigushed herself in the London fashion scene thanks to collections such as 'Pirates', 'Buffalo Girls', 'Punkature' and 'Anglomania', in which she managed to combine male and femal streetstyle elements with British traditional details and full Versaille-silhouette style. 2015 'Unisex' is worth mentioning: this is the very first collection that anticipated an inclusive and genderless fashion.

Not only desinger, but activist as well. Her catwalks have always been a vehicle of political messages. From 2016 she completely devoted herself to climate change issue. So 'Buy less, buy better, make it lasts' became her motto.

THEBS [iKRIX] team pays tribute to her genius and creativity with this selection of accessories, bags, clothing and shoes for women in order to remember an icon that won't be forgotten.
