With the arrival of the good season we can’t wait for relaxing on the beach and having a nice sunny skin tone. What are the trends of women’s beachwear for the spring summer 2019 that fit better with tanning? Sexy or funny, with colorful prints or solid colors, bikinis or one-piece, there’s plenty for every taste.
Fifties’ pin-up style is back. The vintage look becomes contemporary
The more stylish fashion designers know how to emphasize the female body with seductive lines and precious details, drawing inspiration by the silhouettes coming from the recent and coolest history of fashion to renew the summer wardrobe of the modern woman. This season’s beachwear is influenced by revival more than ever, with ultra-glam collections of swimsuits, cover-ups and beach accessories easily matchable with big straw bags, sunglasses and hats, which transform the beach into a place where show off all the female charm.
For a real Diva’s look the ideal bikinis have the style of the 50s pin-up girls. The two-pieces, perfect for all the silhouettes, abandons the V-shape of the Brazilian or the thong in favor of the high-waisted and low-rise leg bottoms, with tops in many shapes and colors:
For Michael Kors the 50s style bikini is made in eyelet cotton lace, with underwire top
Hot pant bottoms and bandeau tops with large shoulder straps both for Max Mara and Zimmermann
Dolce & Gabbana are fascinated by the Cinema’s Divas of those years and propose a collection for a curvy and sensual woman with floral or tile-style prints
Stripes or Gingham prints give a touch of romanticism and joy to the two-pieces by Fendi, Miu Miu and Tory Burch
Colorful beachwear: neon, gold and kaleidoscopic
The 2019 summer season’s beachwear seen on catwalks of the fashion weeks, celebrates the desire for sun and sea through the use of colors. To pack into your suitcases there are surely the 80s neon colors, seen in the fashion shows of Alberta Ferretti, Parah, Diesel and Dsquared2, used for one-pieces and bikinis, but also for beach accessories, with cotton or microfleece towels colored by vivid prints.
Floral motifs, almost psychedelic patterns and the great return of animal print give a touch of vitality to the various bathing suits models. For romantic women there are the flower prints used both for swimsuits and cover-ups, with kaftan or baby-doll shapes for Diane Von Furstenberg, Zimmermann and even Philipp Plein. Or the wide tapestry-style floral patterns inspired by the Seventies of Etro and Mara Hoffman. Always taken from the multi-cultural, colorful and psychedelic fashion of that period there are the kimono cover-ups of Peter Pilotto, the colorful sarong tied on the waist of Emilio Pucci and Maria Enrica Nardi that can be perfectly combined with big sunglasses. But also the oriental prints of Bottega Veneta and Oscar De La Renta or the zebra and spotted prints made by Gucci, Heidi Klein and Fisico.
Also plain colors are very much present in the trendiest fashion shows, with a great return of the classic black and white. Ermanno Scervino chooses the total white for his bikinis and one-pieces, adding a delicious touch of lace as decoration, as long as La Perla and Agent Provocateur, which creates super sexy models with asymmetrical cut-out and plunging necklines. Black is practically everywhere, from Eres to Marcelo Burlon, while a touch of gold gives light and preciousness to the beachwear proposed by Moschino, Versace and Balmain.
3D details, some extravagance and special effect for the couture beachwear of 2019 summer
One-pieces are back to be the real protagonists of the season, becoming scenic and decidedly glamour. There are one-shoulder models, like those decorated by flounces of Isabel Marant, or those made precious by romantic three-dimensional flowers like those created by Bagdley Mishka and Dolce & Gabbana. But the main extravagances are in the collections of Off-White and Libertine, which propose long sleeves bikini tops, but also of Moschino and Chiara Ferragni, which propose funny prints inspired by graffiti art and comics, perfect to match with the colorful flip-flops so fashionable this year.
