White Milano - Woman February 2016

iKRIX was at the press conference introducing WHITE Milano 2016 to discover what’s new in the next Women's Edition.

The press conference took place on Monday, February 15th, 2016 in the historical Galleria Vittorio Emanuele Urban Centre in Milan.

From 27th to 29th February, 2016 Via Tortona 27-54 Fashion District will host, in three different locations, 500 fashion brands coming from all over the world and an estimated presence of 20.000 visitors to present the Fall/Winter 17 women's collections.

Year after year, WHITE Milano establishes itself as an increasingly unmissable appointment at an international level between the most interesting emerging brands and international buyers.

The distinguishing international reach of the show this year is highlighted by the choice of Korean designer Yohanix as Special Guest with a dedicated exhibition area in Tortona 27 and a starring role at a special event on Sunday February 29th.

Yohanix launched his brand in 2009 after graduating from the London College of Fashion and an important experience in Balmain, Paris. The new collection is called “Hamlet's Syndrome” and is inspired by the ‘Generation Maybe’ suspended between the uncertainties of the present and the dreams of the future.

This contrast is translated into a style that unexpectedly matches light fabrics and metal, abstract graphics and strong structures, cashmere, leather and gold embroidery.

This upcoming edition is also characterized by the special project "China Calling" that has been developed in collaboration with Sonja Long Xiao, talent scout and founder of ALTER, one of the most influential showrooms and concept stores in Shanghai. "China Calling" will bring to Milan a selection of the most promising contemporary Chinese designers with the aim of creating a fruitful cultural exchange and connections between the young generation of Chinese designers and international buyers.

Another special project, AALTO, the new Finnish designer brand created by Tuomas Merikoski, will be on in Tortona 27. The brand features a new approach to the feminine wardrobe playing with masculine details and proportions.

International underground brands will exhibit in Tortona 27 Basement.

Tortona 35 Hotel Nhow will host Women's Contemporary Collections, with a special attention to Portuguese emerging designers from Lisbon Fashion Week.

Alberto Zambelli, the winner of Premio Ramponi will have a dedicated area.

Tortona 54 - ex Ansaldo will host a selection of brands specializing in accessories, eyewear and beauty.
