What shall we wear next winter?
Women’s collections A/W 2016-17
Giant coat lapels in masculine fabrics, bouclé, plain colours or checkered patterns, trenches and outwear in patent leather, and bold coloured faux furs will be Autumn/Winter 2016-17 must-haves.
Bombers revisit the 80’s Street Style: they feature geometric and flowery patterns, embroideries, profiling and are presented with short skirts and trousers.
Smooth velvet blazers that fall gently over dresses and skirts. Dresses are preferably in impalpable fabrics, such as silk georgette, and with embroideries.
The trousers for our next winter are palazzo-pants with their fluid and relaxed lines that outline the silhouettes.
Belts disappear and are replaced by corset-type laces.
Colours: colours go from white to cream, rust, green and red. Print vary from micro and macro flowers to stripes and check patterns.
Fabrics: Bouclé wool, cashmere, denim, silk georgette, laces, embroidered organza, velvet, furnishing fabrics borrowed from interior design and embroidered.
Shapes and volumes: oversize volumes for coats, palazzo pants and knitwear, irregular geometric cuts and ruffles that bestow movement to the pieces.
The trend is to carry two coordinated bags: one smaller for keys and cell phones, and the other larger. Fur details and prints will enrich the it-bags of the season. Soft shapes for backpacks and more structured ones for geometric bags.Black, red, pastel pink and earth colours will be the predominant colours.
Boots will play a major role next winter – above the knee, in plain colours or featuring embroideries and animal prints. Boots and ankle boots will be black.
Men’s collections A/W 2016-17
Menswear collections this season borrow some pieces and accessories from women’s wardrobe: embroidered or lurex sweaters, skirts to wear over trousers, silk shirts with bows at the collar and jewels.
This androgynous trend has already been a key trend in last year collections. Men loving the search for beauty and the detail find them in the feminine universe. On the catwalks, we have seen androgynous models shuffling the feet, featuring a slender silhouette and wearing jewels and cross-body bags and totes.
Oversize coats and double-breasted blazers featuring a soft silhouette in warm toned colours and a touch of pink.
Padded jackets are another must-have: this season they feature a mix of fabrics. Leather bikers and parkas will also be a big hit next season.
Trousers are wide legged and with a fluid line. Knitwear is oversize enveloping you warmly.
Colours: earth colours, grey, denim, military, rust and pink.
Fabrics: technical fabrics, bouclé wool, Prince of Wales and check fabrics.
Volumes: oversize volumes for coats and knitwear for the real fashionista, cleaner fitting for a more classic approach.
Backpack in all sizes and shapes, in plain colours, (especially black and with studs) or camouflage patterns or stars. Cross-body bags will also be at the forefront of men’s fashion often featuring the brand’s canvass.
Ankle boots, with or without studs, mainly black, often featuring a heel shaped following the cowboy style, lace-ups, bicoloured loafers with fringes and multicoloured sneakers.
